(English follows) Les élus de Châteauguay ont voté pour une résolution autorisant la Fondation Gisèle Faubert à installer son siège social dans un local de la bibliothèque municipale de Châteauguay.
Cette Fondation amasse des fonds afin de créer une maison de soins palliatifs à Mercier pour desservir le territoire de la Montérégie Ouest. «Comme il n’y pas de centre du genre actuellement dans la région, le gros de la clientèle va venir de Châteauguay puisque nous avons la plus grande population, a expliqué le maire de Châteauguay, Pierre-Paul Routhier, lors de la séance du conseil de Ville du 17 septembre. Et je crois qu’il est très important que nous puissions avoir le siège social chez nous en attendant que la construction du centre se concrétise», a-t-il poursuivi. La Fondation pourra donc s’installer dans le local de la bibliothèque à partir de janvier 2019, pour une durée de deux ans maximum. Le conseiller municipal Michel Énault s’est abstenu de voter sur cette résolution en raison de son implication dans la Fondation, pour laquelle il assume le rôle de président depuis le 11 juillet.
Free office for the Gisèle Faubert Foundation
The Chateauguay elected officials voted for a resolution authorizing the Gisele Faubert Foundation to install its head office in an office of the Chateauguay municipal library.
This Foundation amasses funds in order to create a house of palliative care in Mercier to serve the Monteregie West territory. ‘’As there is no centre of that type currently in the region, the majority of the clientele is going to come from Chateauguay since we have the largest population,’’ explained Chateauguay Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier, at the City Council meeting of Sept. 17. ‘’And I believe that it is very important that we can have the head office in our city while waiting for the construction of the centre to be completed,’’ he continued. The Foundation will thus be able to install itself in the library facility as of January 2019, for a maximum period of two years. Municipal councillor Michel Enault abstained from voting on this resolution because of his involvement in the Foundation,for which he has assumed the role of president since July 11.
