Châteauguay’s City Council authorized the refurbishment of the Châteauguay Regional Centre’s parking lot.

The owners submitted a plan that was deemed satisfactory by elected officials. “The changes that will be made to the site, including those pertaining to landscaping, will contribute to decreasing heat islands, heightening users’ safety and enhancing the aesthetics and the user-friendly nature of the location,” they decided at the April 19 meeting.

Included, among others, will be the installation and conservation of at least one electric charging station for every 100 parking spaces. Containers for residual waste will be the in-ground type.

Landscaping should be finished within the six months following the completion of two new buildings that are being erected in the parking lot to house a Starbucks, a Boustan- a Lebanese restaurant and a Burger King. “In accordance with favourable weather conditions,” specified the resolution which was adopted by the city council.
