Some Virginia deer wandered into a residential district in Chateauguay recently.
Tim Hacking filmed and photographed two of them who gambolled near his house on McIntosh street on the afternoon of November 8. It is a sector far from Ile St. Bernard or wooded areas where deer are numerous.
“My dog was growling in the window, so I got up to see what it was and did a double take. I’m not sure where they came from, as we are not really close to any woods,” Hacking wrote on his Facebook page where he posted the images. In his video, one sees the two deer jumping in the street, advancing on a flower-bed. “I’ve been here almost 10 years. Other than neighbourhood pets, I haven’t seen any kind of animals roaming around,” he told Chateauguay’s Le Soleil.
On the same day, another citizen, Stephanie Allard, filmed two deer crossing the Chateauguay River near D’Youville Bld.
