Urban Planning Overhaul : Châteauguay residents invited to participate in a workshop
The City of Châteauguay is in the process of a complete overhaul of its urban planning plan and regulations. It invites its residents to a participatory workshop on February 5th at 7:00 PM at the 55+ center to share their ideas and vision for the city's urban planning.
The initiative aims to modernize urban planning regulations by emphasizing new environmental standards, sustainable development needs, and collective priorities. "Citizen participation will be a key factor in ensuring that these changes address both the needs of our community and the challenges associated with the environment," said Châteauguay Mayor Éric Allard.
The urban planning overhaul will also take into account the new land use plan of the MRC Roussillon and the recommendations from the Greater Montreal Metropolitan Planning and Development Plan.
The conclusions from the workshop will be considered and analyzed throughout 2025. A public consultation assembly will be held in 2026 to present the proposed plan and regulations and gather feedback.
