(English follows) La Ville de Châteauguay veut revoir son règlement sur «le remisage et le stationnement de véhicules».
Entre autres changements prévus, celui de limiter à cinq le nombre de véhicules qu’il est possible de stationner par habitation unifamiliale. «Pourquoi cinq ? Parce qu’il y a certains endroits, ici à Châteauguay, où des gens qui ont une résidence unifamiliale ont jusqu’à 15, 16, 17 véhicules de stationnés, a illustré le maire de Châteauguay le 10 décembre. C’est sûr que ça embête un peu les voisins, ça donne une impression un p’tit peu particulière» a-t-il ajouté. D’autres aspects pourraient également faire l’objet de modifications, dont celui du stationnement des véhicules commerciaux et récréatifs, qui pourrait être assoupli. Une assemblée publique se tiendra sur le sujet le 24 janvier, à 19h, à la salle du conseil municipal.

Among other changes foreseen, is the one to limit to five the number of vehicles that it is possible to park per single-family dwelling. ‘’Why five? Because there are certain places, here in Chateauguay, where some people who have a single-family residence have up to 15, 16 and 17 vehicles parked,’’ the Mayor illustrated on December 10. It’s certain that it disturbs a few of the neighbours; it gives a slightly bizarre impression,’’ he added. Other aspects could also be the object of modifications, including the one of parking some commercial and recreation vehicles, which could be softened. A public assembly will be held on the subject on January 24 at 7 p.m. at the municipal council hall.
