Pierre-Paul Routhier, maire de Châteauguay

(English follows) Le chef de Vision Châteauguay, Pierre Paul Routhier, a été élu maire de Châteauguay en remportant une victoire sans équivoque contre la mairesse sortante Nathalie Simon.
Les candidats aux postes de conseillers de son équipe ont raflé tous les sièges, à l’exception d’un.
«Les résultats montrent que l’impression que j’avais en me présentant à la mairie, c’était vrai. Les gens voulaient du changement. La Ville a besoin de se faire réveiller!» a exprimé M. Routhier en entrevue au Journal Le Soleil de Châteauguay dimanche soir.
Le parti de la mairesse sortante Nathalie Simon a quant à lui été balayé, aucun de ses candidats n’a gagné.
En entrevue, Mme Simon a confié être très sereine dans la défaite. «Ça été un privilège de faire ce job-là», a-t-elle exprimé en remerciant tous les citoyens qui l’ont soutenue au cours de ses deux mandats.
Tous les conseillers élus font partie de l’équipe du nouveau maire, à l’exception du district #8, remporté par le candidat indépendant François Le Borgne.
Le candidat indépendant à la mairie Steve Brisebois a de son côté exprimé sa déception. «C’est la démocratie, il faut la respecter. Je garde quand même la tête haute, car je considère que j’ai fait la campagne que je voulais faire», a-t-il confié lundi matin.

Vision Chateauguay leader Pierre-Paul Routhier has been elected Mayor of Chateauguay by posting an unequivocal victory over outgoing Mayoress Nathalie Simon.
The candidates for the positions of councillors from his team swept all the seats with one lone exception.
«The results show that the impression I had by presenting myself for the mayoralty was true. The people wanted change. The City needs to be awakened! » Routhier expressed in an interview with Le Soleil de Châteauguay Sunday night.
The party of outgoing Mayoress Nathalie Simon for its part was swept; not one of its candidates won.
Simon in an interview confided that she was very serene in defeat. »It was a privilege for me to do that job, » she said, while thanking all the citizens who supported her during her two mandates as mayoress.
All the councillors elected are part of the new mayor's team, with the exception of Ward 8 (D'Youville), won by independent candidate François Le Borgne.
At the time when Le Soleil was going to press on Monday morning, independent mayoral candidate Steve Brisebois, who finished third in the race, had not returned our phone call.
The participation rate was 46%, according to the Quebec Director General of Elections. The rate was 44,1% in 2013.
