The photo radar machine placed 350 metres from the Airlie street exit on Route 138 after the Mercier Bridge divulged over 5,000 offending drivers during the summer.
More precisely, 5,168 tickets have been served thanks to the apparatus between July 1 and September 30, according to information from the Justice Ministry. Globally, the fines and costs related to the infractions represent $686,951, or $133 per ticket.
The greatest number of infractions were photographed in July: 2,241, representing twice as many as in the month of August when the device sanctioned 1,111 drivers for exceeding the speed limit. A total of 1,816 tickets were meted out in September.
