Operation Nez Rouge soon on the region's roads

Operation Nez Rouge, Châteauguay's drive-home services are back again this year for drivers in the region. For the 23rd time, the Maison des Jeunes de Châteauguay will serve as the centre for these services.

Drivers will be able to benefit from this type of accompaniment for 11 evenings, on November 29 and 30, every Friday and Saturday in December, as well as on December 31, from 8:30 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Operation Nez rouge Châteauguay will serve the municipalities of Châteauguay, Mercier, Beauharnois, Saint-Étienne-de-Beauharnois, Léry, Sainte-Martine, Saint-Rémi, Saint-Isidore, Saint-Urbain-Premier and Saint-Édouard-de-Napierville.

The Melocheville sector in Beauharnois and Kahnawake are also on the list.

To obtain a ride, call (450) 699-6011, a line that may be active as early as next week, says Lynda Proulx, Director of the Maison des Jeunes.

You can also call the general number, 1-866-DESJARDINS, or request a ride using the Operation Nez rouge website or app.

According to the Operation Nez rouge Châteauguay Facebook page, 344 rides were provided during the 2023 edition.

@R:A number of public figures will be taking part in the 23rd edition of Operation Nez rouge Châteauguay, either as volunteers or to encourage the volunteers at the Maison des Jeunes, says Lynda Proulx.

For example, host and comedian Alex Perron will be answering calls.

Singer Marie-Élaine Thibert, actress Carmen Sylvestre, and singer Catherine Bessette and her guitarist have also confirmed their presence.

The Maison des Jeunes is awaiting responses from other artists.

@R:Once again this year, local users are invited to make a donation after the drive home. The funds will go to the Maison des Jeunes de Châteauguay and will be used to finance activities offered by the organization.

Residents will be able to make donations by paypass, a payment method that raised thousands of dollars in donations last year.

The Maison des Jeunes is currently looking for volunteers.

Those interested are invited to register online on the Operation Nez rouge website or by calling 450 699-6011 or 450 698-3343.

Last year, there were a total of 163 volunteers, according to data provided on the Operation Nez rouge Châteauguay Facebook page.

Boucherville comedian Rosalie Vaillancourt will be the spokesperson for Operation Nez rouge, now in its 41st year.
