(English follows) Le conseil de Ville de Châteauguay a adopté un avis de motion le 11 décembre en vue de réglementer les activités de «culture de cannabis» et de «produits de cannabis» sur son territoire.
«C’est un incontournable, a indiqué le maire Pierre-Paul Routhier, puisque le gouvernement fédéral légalisera ce type d’activités en juillet 2018». L’administration précédente avait déjà ajusté sa réglementation afin de circonscrire la production de cannabis médical dans le secteur du parc industriel. Le conseil actuel veut poursuivre sur la même voie en limitant tout autres types de productions de cannabis dans le même secteur industriel. Le maire Routhier a entre autres évoqué les risques de sécurité lié à ce type d’industrie, notamment par rapport aux incendies. Mais il a également souligné le besoin d’approvisionnement en eau. «Il n’y a qu’un compteur d’eau par bâtiment, alors on veut qui si une industrie comme ça s’installe ici, ce soit dans un bâtiment dédié à usage exclusif» a-t-il précisé.
New regulations regarding cannabis
