The sale of its land represents a sum of $5M for the city. It sold one to CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions for $1.6M. The company which specializes in the manufacture of complex metal housings has expansion projects, informed Mayor Eric Allard.
Youbarfactory has also set his sights even higher in Châteauguay’s industrial park. It acquired a parcel of land for $1.5M with the goal of making its expansion projects concrete.
Groupe Dyfotech, which specializes in blasting and drilling will be establishing itself on a lot purchased for $1.2M. “Don’t worry, there will not be warehousing or blasting there. It will be used for office spaces,” Mr. Allard specified.
Acier Métaux spec purchased an additional portion of the lot that abuts its own on Ford Boulevard for $104,200.
The Les immeubles MJGP construction company purchased a lot on Pierre-Boursier Boulevard for $439,000.
During the January city council meeting, the city put restrictions on the types of companies that could establish themselves on Pierre-Boursier Boulevard to limit inconveniences to the residences that are located across the street. Growing cannabis, the recuperation and sorting of glass, plastic and paper, as well as heavy industry and construction are now prohibited.
As for Les immeubles MJGP, the mayor confirmed that peace and quiet for residents on the opposite site of the street will be maintained as it will be primarily used as a storage space.
Recall
Earlier this year, the city announced the sale of 4 million square feet of land in its industrial park as a result of an agreement with the Ministry of the Environment for wetlands compensation.
