Le parti de la mairesse Nathalie Simon, Action citoyenne -citizens’ Action, a riposté aux critiques de ses adversaires en vantant «l’avenir prometteur» que ses membres entrevoient pour la Ville au cours des prochaines années.
Dans un communiqué, le 14 août, le parti propose «une ville verte, dynamique et prospère» aux électeurs. Il énumère plusieurs éléments pour démontrer «l’effervescence» actuelle de Châteauguay. «Des écoles qui débordent, des industries qui s’agrandissent et qui investissent dans le parc industriel et des promoteurs de partout au Québec qui visitent la ville», sont entre autres donnés en exemple.
«Châteauguay est prête pour faire face aux enjeux des 20 prochaines années, soutient la chef du parti, Nathalie Simon. Loin de l’improvisation chère à certains, nous avons planifié la transformation de la Ville. Nous avons amorcé la mise à niveau des infrastructures qui nous permettront d’accueillir de nouveaux investissements et nous sommes sur le point de cueillir le fruit de tous ces efforts», poursuit-elle.
Le parti cite également plusieurs chiffres pour illustrer la bonne santé de la Ville sur le plan économique. En voici quelques-uns :
– «14 000 personnes travaillent à Châteauguay, qui compte 1000 places d’affaires».
– «Depuis 2010, plus de 525 millions de dollars investis dans les secteurs industriel, commercial et résidentiel. Et des projets actuellement discutés annoncent d’autres investissements privés d’ici 2020.»
– «Essor foudroyant autour de l’île Saint-Bernard (235 visites l’an dernier), pierre angulaire du développement du récréotourisme à Châteauguay», selon le parti.
Cette offensive arrive quelques jours après une critique de Pierre-Paul Routhier, chef du parti Vision Châteauguay- Équipe Routhier Team. Dans un communiqué le 11 août, il reprochait à l’administration Simon une approche «défavorable à la revivification économique».

Mayoress Nathalie Simon’s party, Action citoyenne -Citizens’ Action, retorted to the criticisms of its opponents by vaunting « the promising future » that its members foresee for the City during the coming years.

The party also cites several figures to illustrate the good health of the City on the economic level. Here are some of them :

This offensive arrives a few days after a criticism from Pierre-Paul Routhier, chief of the Vision Chateauguay Party- Equipe Routhier Team. In a communique issued on August 11, he reproached the Simon administration for an approach that is « unfavourable to economic revival. »
