The New Frontiers School Board has sent a letter to parents on May 11 putting them on guard concerning an elderly man who is approaching pupils when they disembark from the school bus near Louis-Joliet street in Chateauguay.
Chateauguay police have been informed. «The more citizens who are aware of this situation, the better chance we have to protect our children», indicates NFSB director general Rob Buttars in his letter that was also published on the school board’s Facebook page.
He is asking parents to remind students of certain safety regulations:
- To walk in groups whenever possible
- To never talk to strangers
- To never approach a stranger’s vehicle
- To never, for any reason, follow a stranger or get into their vehicle
