(English follows) L’escouade canine de la SPCA Roussillon, qui a sillonné le territoire de Châteauguay tout l’été afin de faire appliquer les règlements sur les animaux, n’a remis aucun constat d’infraction au terme de sa première saison d’activités.
Dans le cadre de la première année du contrat, «le conseil de Ville de Châteauguay a préféré axer l’intervention (de la patrouille canine) sur une approche de sensibilisation plutôt que de donner des contraventions» explique Marie-Claude Tremblay, directrice des communications pour la Ville. Elle ajoute que «les gens collaborent très bien en général». Outre la patrouille, qui est opération de la mi-avril à la mi-octobre, la SPCA Roussillon a le mandat de prendre en charge tout dossier lié à la gestion animalière du territoire. La Ville invite ses citoyens à communiquer directement avec l’organisme pour toutes questions ou plaintes relatives à cet enjeu (450-638-9698).
No notice of infraction delivered by canine patrol this summer
The canine squad of the Roussillon SPCA, which furrowed through the territory of Chateauguay all summer in order to apply the bylaws on animals, issued no infraction notice by the end of its first season of activities.
In the framework of the first year of the contract, ‘’Chateauguay City Council preferred to focus the intervention (of the canine patrol) on a sensitization approach rather than hand out tickets,’’ explains City communications director Marie-Claude Tremblay. She adds that ‘’people are collaborating very well in general.’’ Besides the patrol, which is in operation from mid-April to mid-October, the Roussillon SPCA has the mandate to take charge of all files linked to the animal management of the territory.
