Those wanting to say adieu and offer condolences to the family of photographer Andrew Clark who passed away suddenly on August 6th may do so on August 19th, 20th and 21st at the Alexandre Nicole funeral home located at 96, boulevard Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Châteauguay.

The current public health regulations limit the number of people in a funeral home to a maximum of 50, which includes the family members receiving condolences. Erika Oostveen, Andrew’s wife, sought to reassure people who wanted to bid farewell to her late husband.

“It’s 50 people at a time, so there might be a waiting period, but people will come in and out which will allow as many people as possible to attend,” she explained to Le Soleil de Châteauguay.

A private memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 22nd.

Several Eulogies

Since the announcement of his sudden passing, there have been numerous outpourings of sympathy about the newspaper’s former contributing photographer.

In addition to being known as the photographer for the region’s sports teams, the Châteauguay resident was also involved with many community organizations.

“Thank you for so generously offering your time and for having been the inspiration behind so many ideas that we developed together. With your heart on your sleeve, you distributed and gave to others without ever keeping record of your time, and it made a huge difference to so many. Thank you for having shared the giving nature you possessed within you,” the Centre Communautaire de Châteauguay wrote.

Bouffe Partage, another organization with which Andrew Clark donated his time had only kind words about him. “He was much more than just a volunteer. He was a precious help, a friend, a generous man with a big heart. Your enthusiasm and cheerfulness will be really missed, dear friend. They say that anybody can be replaced, but we strongly believe that there’s exception to that and Andrew was and will be one of them,” wrote the organization on its Facebook page.

Andrew Clark died of a massive heart attack at the age of 47. The family is awaiting the official autopsy report.
