At the age of 11 and with the help of his parents Tanya Morlock and Tim Leduc-Lavigne, Nathan is helping to alleviate hunger in the community.

The boy has been collecting non-perishable goods and monetary donations for the Châteauguay Food Bank since the beginning of the month of November. « This year Nathan heard that food banks were running low on food because many people were losing their jobs and needed more help due to Covid. So, he wanted to do something to help the food bank. It started off just with close friends and family and his goal to fill up 2 cars full of food», explained Tanya Morlock.

The family had the idea of sending a call out to the whole community via Facebook, « We talked and figured why not try and gather our wonderful community in a time of need and uncertainty. So, I started sharing on Facebook in the Châteauguay community page. Well its kind of blown up since then. And he’s loving every minute of being able to help give back», his mother exclaimed.

The woman regularly posts social media pictures of her son grinning along with the donated items. The collection has hugely surpassed the capacity of two SUVs. His mission will continue on until December 11.

The food bank is obviously grateful for his actions. « WOW! Great job Nathan, you are amazing!» the organization posted on its Facebook page. Many other people also had kind words for the boy.
