Justin Moore, 22, from Châteauguay, was accused of the first-degree murder of James Richard Curotte from Kahnawake on Monday, August 24.
According to the Sûreté du Québec, the Châteauguay resident remains in custody.
The victim was found in critical condition on the morning of Saturday, August 22, in Châteauguay’s Parc de la Commune. Residents in the sector had called police to report hearing gunshots. Justin Moore was arrested during the night of Sunday into Monday.
The Sûreté du Québec has not provided any information regarding the circumstances that may have led to the murder.
The Parc de la Commune was closed all weekend. It reopened on Monday.
