Ce, afin «de couvrir des dépenses pour les repas et l’essence», a indiqué le maire Pierre-Paul Routhier. Il y a actuellement trois comités internes, dans lesquels siègent une dizaine de citoyens au total. «Trois citoyens font partie du comité cannabis (pour trois rencontres au total), quatre citoyens au comité consultatif d’urbanisme (CCU) (à raison d’une rencontre par mois) et deux citoyens dans le comité de réingénierie (pour huit rencontres au total)» détaille Thérèse Gaumont, adjointe au Conseil municipal.
Citizens sitting on various committees to be remunerated
The citizens who sit on a committee launched by Chateauguay City Council will no longer be doing volunteer work. From now on they will be paid $35 per session.
This is in order ‘’to cover expenses for meals and gas,’’ explained Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier. There are currently three internal committees, on which sit a total of about 10 citizens. ‘’Three citizens are part of the cannabis consultation committee (for a total of three meetings); four citizens are on the urbanism consultation committee (CCU) (attending one meeting per month), and two citizens are on the re-engineering committee (for a total of eight meetings)’’ informs municipal council adjunct Therese Gaumont.
