(English follows) Les élus ont attribué un contrat de 128 500 $ à la firme Univert paysagement inc. Ce, afin d’aménager sur un terrain en friche, situé au 10, rue Omer-Loiselle, un stationnement de 13 places.
«Ce terrain avait été acquis par la ville il y a plusieurs années. Et comme il manque d’espace de stationnements, notamment pour les usagers du Centre communautaire, on a décidé d’y aménager des places. J’espère que la firme pourra commencer très rapidement» a exprimé le maire Pierre-Paul Routhier lors de séance du conseil du 17 septembre.
Au moment du vote, le conseiller Marcel Deschamps a critiqué le fait que la Ville attribue le contrat alors qu’elle n’a reçu qu’une seule soumission. «On aurait peut-être pu avoir un meilleur prix ?» a-t-il lancé. Il a également déploré que le terrain ne permette d’aménager que 13 places de stationnement. «Ça ne valait peut-être pas la peine, finalement (que la Ville achète ce terrain)» a-t-il fait valoir.
Arranging of a parking lot near the Community Centre
The elected officials awarded a contract for $128,500 to the Univert Paysagement Inc. firm in order to arrange a parking lot with 13 spaces on a wasteland lot at 10 Omer Loiselle.
‘’This land had been acquired by the City several years ago. And since there lacks parking spaces, notably for users of the Community Centre, we decide to lay out some parking spots there. I hope that the firm will be able to begin very quickly,’’ expressed Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier at the Sept. 17 council meeting.
At the time of the vote, councillor Marcel Deschamps criticized the fact that the City is attributing the contract when only one bid was received. ‘’Perhaps we could have had a better price?’’ he noted. He also deplored that the land only permits 13 parking spaces. ‘’It was perhaps not worth the trouble, in the end (that the City buys this land),’’ he mused.
